Booking
How do I book a session at Nelkenshift?
Use the contact form, email [email protected] or call 020 244 8917. State service, style, number of tracks or episodes and possible dates. Within 2 working days we send a slot proposal and written quote incl. VAT.
When is my booking firm?
After written acceptance of the quote and receipt of the 30% deposit. We invoice the balance as agreed; consumers usually pay on session day, business clients within 14 days unless stated otherwise.
Can I cancel or move a date for free?
Yes, up to 7 days before the scheduled start. Inside that window deposit rules apply per our terms and conditions. For illness or force majeure we contact you to find a fair solution.
What are your opening hours?
Monday–Friday 10:00–22:00, Saturday 11:00–18:00, Sunday by appointment only. Sessions are by appointment; we leave buffer between blocks for setup and wrap-up.
Can I book as a minor?
Recording from age 16 with your own consent and payment. Under 16 only via a parent or guardian who books, pays and attends. See privacy policy on minors’ data.
In the studio
How many musicians fit in the live room?
Up to 6 people in the 42 m² live room. Larger setups we discuss upfront; sometimes we use overdubs in the booth or control room.
Is an engineer always present?
Yes for studio recording sessions. Mix and master are done by our engineers in control; you need not attend but we schedule feedback moments.
Can I bring guests?
One or two visitors in control is usually fine. More people we agree in advance because of space and focus.
What if we need more time than booked?
Extensions only if the next slot is free and you agree upfront to the hourly rate of that service. Rates are on services and service pages.
How should I prepare?
Tune up, pick references, write structure and lyrics. Our guides include vocal warm-up and band budget.
Files and delivery
What format do you deliver?
Default 24-bit WAV at 48 kHz unless your project uses another sample rate. Mix and master via download link or agreed cloud; stems on request per quote.
How long do you keep session files?
24 months after the last relevant session for that client. Then we delete archive copies on our systems. Keep your own backups; see privacy policy for retention.
Can I take raw takes right after recording?
Yes if time allows after wrap or via link within a few working days. Raw takes are work files; a tidy export may need extra time if not in the quote.
Do you supply stems for external mixing?
Yes, especially for mixing projects. Read export stems for naming and headroom. Stem export can be included in the quote.
What if there is a technical failure?
We use redundant storage during sessions. If something fails we recover from backup where possible; re-recording rules are in terms.
Mix, master and revisions
How many revision rounds for mix and master?
2 feedback rounds per track or agreed package. One round bundles your notes; major arrangement changes or extra tracks are billed separately.
Do I need to attend mastering?
Not required. Many clients listen at home and send timestamps. For critical A/B listening you can book time in control.
What loudness targets do you use?
We align to common streaming targets and discuss per project. Delivery tips are in loudness before mastering and on mastering.
Can I buy mix or master only?
Yes. Mix from €285 per song incl. VAT; master from €75. Combined services appear on one quote.
Do you work with home-recorded projects?
Yes — upload stems or mixes as agreed. Keep files organised; engineers answer pre-session questions via contact.
Payment and rights
Are site prices incl. VAT?
Yes, listed rates include 21% VAT unless stated otherwise. Tables on services also show ex-VAT amounts per row.
Which payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer for deposit and balance; card in studio where available. IBAN and reference are on quotes and invoices from Nelkenshift B.V..
Who owns the recordings?
After full payment for the agreed service, recordings made for you belong to you within terms and any samples or cover notices you provide.
Do you use my audio to train AI?
No. We do not use client audio to train AI models and do not create voice clones without written consent. More in privacy policy and disclaimer.
Where are legal documents?
Legal notice, terms and conditions, privacy policy, cookie policy, accessibility and data processing agreement for business clients.
